Taijiquan is a holistic art that facilitates harmonious reconnection with oneself and one’s environment, thanks to fluid, graceful and conscious movements and breathing.

“Creative Meditation” helps you to gradually calm your mind.

Creative Meditation is a structured method to facilitate introspection and promote mental calm, in order to balance our modern lifestyle.

We follow a progressive sequence of gentle stretching exercises, breathing to re-center, and a guided meditation with visualizations to generate joy, inner peace and mental clarity. Read more…

Weekly class schedule

All classes are for all levels (except the “level 2” yoga classes). You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga! For more advanced students we add variations, details, and focus on the correct respiration.

The classes are bascially in French but you can ask the insctructor for some explainations in English if needed.

Yoga at the Park

Every Wednesday from 18:30 - 19:30

To enjoy the summer sun and being outside in nature, Surya Montréal invites you to weekly yoga classes at Parc Père Marquette. All levels welcome!

Yoga Brunch

Sunday, August 10 from 10:00 - 13:00

Join us for a relaxing yoga practice at 10h, followed by a potluck brunch to share good food and meet nice people! If the sun comes out, we wil picnic at the park. 

Massage Workshop

Saturday, August 30 from 14:30 - 17:00

In this shiatsu massage workshop, you’ll learn techniques for deeply relaxing especially the back and to stimulate the Shu energy points in the back.

Suryashtanga is a way of practicing yoga that was developped by the founder of our school, Stéphane Chollet. It is based on the philosophical guidelines of the “Yoga in 8 steps” (Ashtanga). That includes ethical principles, body exercises, conscious breathing and concentration. 

Our yoga classes start with dynamic exercises, followed by static postures and a guided relaxation.

 

Taijiquan is often spelled as Taichi in the West. It is a Chinese martial art that is today well-known for its health benefits.

At Surya we practice HunYuan Taijiquan which includes Qigong for increasing our life energy.

Our class schedule include two weekly Yoga & Meditation classes. We start with a gentle 30 minutes physical practice to release tensions in our body, before conentrating on the respiration and concluding with a 15 minutes guided meditation. 

You can participate in our “all levels” Yoga classes. The practice is accessable for beginners. We teach different variations of mouvements and postures for beginners and more advanced students. 

You can start coming to our classes whenever you want, there are no defined semesters.
